Finding the "You" in It All
The Song Is You! celebrates the words, music and artists that give the art form its passion and importance. These are unique "docu-concerts" that combine live performances with commentary and dozens of rare still images and videos. The concerts showcase the finest theater and film songs while exploring the cultural and historical impact of musical theater as an American art form.
It's a glorious art form in which characters reveal their thoughts and feelings with dialogue and songs; these elements create powerful stories. And in the end, the song is you! It’s about the connections you discover between musical theater and your own lives.
And you know what? The Musical Theater Project proudly explores America’s democracy, delving into the rich diversity of the American experience, the enduring relevance of musical theater in contemporary society and the legacies of pivotal artists, while cultivating connections with iconic characters and themes.
